Expertise of the organization:
The NanoPolyPhotonics (NPP) group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Science has many years' experience with the design, development and optimization of novel FRET fluoroimmunoassays using lanthanide complexes and quantum dots. The group demonstrates strong practical experience in analytical techniques such as time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy, confocal fluorescence microscopy or immunoanalyze methods.Other experties includes: biolabeling (proteins, antibodies, DNA aptamers, etc.) using a wide selection of luminophores, Nanomaterial (bio)functionalization, Preparation of nanosensors and their integration in macroscopic devices State-of-art equipment to evaluate detection systems for biomedical purposes.

Research interests & project ideas:
Fluoroimmunoassays for multiplexed protein/DNA detection Bioimaging of luminescent nanoparticles and biomolecules Point-of-care (POC) biomedical diagnostics systems Flexible modular sensing device for high-throughput-screening (HTS) at Point-of use (POU) Photonic detection integrated in lab-on-chip laboratory Multiplexed marker detection
